vehicle navigation systems to leading car and truck manufacturers.
The customer had won large orders from some leading logistics solution providers
for providing vehicle tracking and fleet management system.
The primary requirements were that the system should be capable of online monitoring
of real time fleet data based on user defined time interval,monitor the vehicle diagnostics, display the monitored data in the form of maps and also support
all kinds of reports for the management for improving the business performance. Another key
aspect was the system should be developed using open source technologies and should be flexible
for supporting all types of vehicle tracking hardware.
Our solutions
Claystone proposed a web based fleet management system capable of tracking multiple logistics
solution providers.
The vehicles would be monitored using GPS based technology for identifying the
location and GSM based technology would be used for communicating with the system. The system
would be displaying the monitored data in the form of route maps using Google Earth. The system
would also support various reports like delivery reports with start and stop timings, location and
duration and also support reports like stop and idle time reports which can be used for improving
the employee productivity.
